Copenhagen Light Festival’s contribution to the winter season is made possible thanks to the foundations.
Their support allows us to create high-quality light installations for everyone – across ages, cultures and backgrounds.

While the festival’s daily operations are funded by the City of Copenhagen, the major works that illuminate the city’s most visible locations are often supported by foundations. These installations attract hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, lifting the gaze, sparking curiosity and bringing light into the winter darkness.

With 400,000 visitors, over 50 million social media mentions and more than 600 million TV viewers last year, the festival’s reach is significant – and this is largely thanks to the trust and generosity of the foundations.
