Copenhagen Light Festival 2026 once again generated extraordinary international media attention.
The festival reached more than 751 million viewers worldwide, making 2026 one of the most successful years in the festival’s history.
The story was broadcast by international media including CNN, ABC, Euronews, Sky TG24 (Italy) and LaPresse, together with 65 television stations and news organisations across Europe, North America and Asia.

The growing international interest is also reflected in Copenhagen’s tourism. Hotel overnight stays in February have increased by 9% in each of the past two years, corresponding to an estimated additional hotel revenue of DKK 150–250 million (approximately €20–34 million / US$23–39 million), depending on the average room rate.
