Imagine Peace – a collaboration between six cities, supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe Programme.
Copenhagen Light Festival 2026–2027
In both 2026 and 2027, Copenhagen Light Festival will present six light installations under the theme Peace in Europe, with a focus on inclusion and sustainability.
The works are created as part of a joint European project with five other cities across the EU – a collaboration where light art connects us across borders and strengthens a shared vision to raise the quality, structure, and role of Copenhagen Light Festival throughout the winter season.
Imagine Peace project example:
German artist Claudia Reh held a workshop in Copenhagen titled “What Peace Is for You?”, bringing together young and older participants to explore peace through light and creativity.
Using simple everyday objects – from nature and from stories of conflict – she created luminous projections that celebrate dialogue and connection across borders.
Among the participants, an artist from Iran and a researcher from Israel worked together, offering a moving example of how new friendships and respect can grow through shared creation.
Claudia Reh presents her work in each city and actively engages with visitors during the festival, continuing her exploration of peace and shared creativity.
