Som led i Copenhagen Light Festival står Glyptotekets facade i ”flammer” med en lysinstallation udviklet af den internationalt anerkendte lysdesigner Jesper Kongshaug sammen med en gruppe studerende fra uddannelsesinstitutionen NEXT.

Lysinstallationen er inspireret af indskriften over indgangen til museets mausoleum: ’Semper Ardens’, der betyder ”altid brændende”. Det var Glyptotekets grundlægger, Carl Jacobsens motto i sit virke; altid brændende i ånd og sjæl.

Du kan opleve installationen torsdag 6. og 13. februar. Begge aftener kan du møde frivillige fra CPH Volunteers, som kan fortælle mere om lysinstallationen. Flammerne knitrer kl. 17-22.

Hvis du vil mere end blot nyde lyset, kan du komme med på en gratis facadeomvisning, hvor vi ser på Glyptotekets unikke bygningsudsmykning.
Omvisningerne finder sted 6. og 13. februar kl. 17.30 (på dansk) og 18.30 (på engelsk). Hver omvisning varer 30 minutter.
Mødested: foran Glyptotekets hovedindgang, Dantes Plads 7. Bare mød op.

Light Festival at The Glyptotek

As part of the Copenhagen Light Festival, the façade of The Glyptotek will be aglow with ‘flames’, featuring a light installation created by the internationally-renowned lighting designer, Jesper Kongshaug and a group of students from NEXT (an educational institution in Copenhagen).
The inspiration for the light installation was the inscription above the entrance to the museum’s mausoleum: “Semper Ardens” – “Constantly Burning”. This was the motto that governed Carl Jacobsen’s every endeavour. The passionate founder of The Glyptotek burned with heart and soul for his mission to bring art and culture to the people.

The installation will be presented on Thursday 6 and Thursday 13 February between 5.00 to 10.00 pm. On both evenings, you will have the chance to meet volunteers from CPH Volunteers who can tell you about the light installation.

If you want to learn more, you can join a free guided tour of the façade and enjoy a close-up experience of the unique decorations that adorn the various buildings that make up The Glyptotek.
Tours start at 5.30 pm (in Danish) and 6.30 pm (in English). Each tour lasts 30 minutes.
