Bien Contemporary is proud to present Sentences of Security, a light and space exhibition showcasing plasma, glass, and mixed media works by Cuban artist Yorky Mencia Garcia. The exhibition includes six light installations and sculptures, offering an immersive experience that explores the artist’s latest investigations into the interplay of light and space.

The artist

 

Yorky Mencia Garcia (b. 1983) is a Cuban visual artist who graduated from the prestigious Cuban Fine Art Academy, San Alejandro, and holds a master’s degree in Global Studies and Cultural Encounters from Roskilde University.

He has participated in programs such as “Arte de conducta,” founded by Cuban-American artist Tania Brugera, and has exhibited extensively in Copenhagen. Yorky is the founder of the artist-run gallery and project space Bien Contemporary. A true multimedia artist, his practice spans works on found materials, painting, public interventions, and installations. Recently, he has delved into light and space installations, expanding his artistic exploration into new, dynamic dimensions.
