As I Move Towards Embrace
By: Ursula Nistrup m.fl.
Politikens Forhal presents the exhibition As I Move Towards Embrace, featuring sound, light, and salt sculptures created by artist Ursula Nistrup in collaboration with musicians Lis Sørensen, Jomi Massage, and Luke Sutherland, as well as writer Ida Marie Hede and sculptor Lotte Henriksen.
Ursula Nistrup has long been fascinated by the qualities of Lis Sørensen’s voice, particularly how she uses it in wordless passages—an intense yet gentle whisper that is both airy and full-bodied.
These qualities have inspired Nistrup’s exhibition As I Move Towards Embrace, for which she has created a large abstract light sculpture made of Himalayan salt, accompanied by an original sound piece sung by Lis Sørensen specifically for the exhibition.
